THEFT BY STAFF ruined our stay. The proprietor's inadequate response made the stay worse. THEFT BY STAFF: On the only full day of our two-night stay at Residenza Dei Principi, we left our room locked with electronic devices in open view near the beds. Upon return, beds were made, but the electronic devices were gone. We reported the theft immediately via the only method available, messaging with pictures. My text “accusations” was gentile but pointed in hopes of the proprietor shaming the thief to do the right thing and return the stolen items. I explained we had to leave early the next morning for the airport. Unfortunately, this is a no/low contact B&B. The proprietor’s FIRST text reply was when we had checked-out and were at the airport more than 12 hours later. Despite my repeated and more pointed contact in the subsequent almost two weeks, the Residenza Dei Principi does nothing, treating this as misplaced devices. The proprietor’s only response is, "...cleaning staff did not found and report anything! Many thanks" Rome has world famous skillful pickpockets at its iconic sights. On the other hand, we rely on Italian hotels and B&Bs to be safe places from domestic thieves. The only place we were victims of theft over a 15-day vacation was at Residenza Dei Principi. RUINED: Unfortunately, the stay was ruined by theft of items from our room while we were out. Thus it is difficult to endorse anything about La Residenza dei Principi or our stay there. ------- UPDATE 24Aug2023 -------------- The proprietors have sent a mildly threatening letter [see attached photo] from presumably their attorney requesting we remove this review. We know their staff stole our property during our stay there. WE WILL NOT REMOVE THIS REVIEW without an apology and a remedy.

Great location with walking distance to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and other historical sites. So many places to eat, souvenir shops, markets, and walking distance to the train station and metro. Staff super friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast included.

VERY unhappy with our stay. My Bluetooth earbuds were stolen when the room was cleaned by staff. We reported this immediately upon return to the room but received no assistance. Unbelievable to spend that kind of money to stay at a place that steals your belongings. Beyond frustrating.

Very charming, economical, centrally located, and functional B&B. Since it has only 4 rooms and we booked 2 of them, the place felt like home. One caution: there are no staff on-site; so, make sure to communicate your arrival time clearly and precisely with the management. For us, the staff waited for us on the street when we arrived, helped us with bags, and gave us excellent information about the area and sites. Internet was decent, the breakfast was a little better than other similar priced hotels we experienced in Italy. Around the clock access to the kitchen and snacks was definitely a bonus!

The location was great, beautiful old building, tiny place, it's just one apartment with four rooms. I felt right at home. Check in worked great, you ring the doorbell and the staff comes running from a different location. They contact you the day before arrival asking about your approximate check in time. The little interaction I had with them they were always friendly and helpful. They set up a little breakfast buffet in the morning (there is no breakfast room), fresh cornetti with different fillings, some toast, yogurt, you grab a tray and take it to your room. This little self service area is available all day.
