Loews Miami Beach Hotel – South Beach

Many issue with this stay. Dirty room upon arrival. Mentioned this the next morning, and yet it was never taken care of, the entire 1 week stay. Housekeeping was awful - came in when dnd light was on, then did not come back. Scheduled housekeeping upon suggestion from front desk, and they never showed within 2 hours of the scheduled time, had to be requested again. Other than initial check in, the front desk staff was not helpful, or nice. Basically did not give a crap about any issues, and did not care to rectify the situations. Definitely did not feel welcome here. Had two rooms booked (checking in on different days) was given the room numbers, and yet they changed rooms for the second person checking in. Changed room type, and had to fight to get it fixed. Had to request things for the room multiple times, and then wait, again, for them. The air conditioning barely cooled the room, and ran non stop. It was high 60's to low 70's when we were there, so thankfully that helped some. Our rate included a food and beverage credit, and that was not showing properly on the bill. I went to the front desk, and was told they had fixed it, and gave me a new print out. Prior to checking out I had a printout of the charges, however after checkout, the emailed bill showed the charges again. I had to call accounting at that point, and deal with them for a credit. Then, they charged my credit card an additional amount for the mini bar. We never touched the mini bar!! Again, another call to accounting. While they did end of crediting both of these issues, if I was not paying very close attention, these amounts would have just gone through, as they were included in a "total room billing". Clearly an easy was to make extra money! We have come to the Loews annually, for the last 12 years. The last couple of years it has gone down hill, with this year being the worst. Many of the staff are unkind, and clearly should not be working with customers. I understand things happen, and as long as I'm treated fairly, and with respect its all good. That did not happen here. So sad, as this was our favorite place in South Beach, and our preferred destination for a getaway.

Our whole experience was wonderful from the time of booking through check out. The property is beautiful, up to date, and very well maintained. The location is convenient to both the beach and South Beach walking trail as well as to many nearby restaurant and shopping options. The restaurant and bar areas also provided very enjoyable experiences without needed to venture out further. We will definitely return!
