Ocean View Apartments – Delicia

Awful experience from the night we arrived in the room. Instantly we noticed a sewage smell, as we had been travelling 10+ hours we just went to bed. The next morning we could smell sewage again when the taps or shower was turned on, after opening the doors onto the balcony we noticed that we were over looking a mangrove/swamp, the smell was like open sewage but worse due to the heat, due to this we could not have the doors open or use the balcony to dry swimwear or towels. The door lock was also not working so they would not fully close leaving the smell to seep in. When I asked the staff about a room transfer I was told it is normal and nothing they can do, I asked what option we had and was told an upgrade to a pool or sea view room, when we said ok they told us there would be no upgrade for 7 days which was pointless as we were leaving after 9 nights. The service of the rooms was also shocking, left dirty/stained towels after that were disgusting, days when we went back after a service and no towels at all were left. The complementary mini fridge was not filled until the last day we were there yet we were told on arrival it was refilled daily...it was not and we had to try multiple bars to get bottles of water. Room was never swept or mopped during the services. I found the servicing staff in the restaurants very difficult to communicate with, every meal we had I noticed that if the server did not understand what we said they did not write it down, meaning multiple items were missed each meal or something totally else brought out. None of the orders were read back and a lot written down, they did not ask us to repeat anything if it was not understood they just didn't write it down. This was an issue at every restaurant we went too. We did not pay extra to get the ''luxury adults only section'' to have a hot sewage smelling room and bad service. Waste of £3500+ Very bad experience, would not return or recommend.

We stayed in the Hideaway section. Overall we had a great experience. There was barely any sewage smell in the hallways and none in the room. The room was great and comfortable. The gym is fully equipped. It is true that they don’t refill the fridge with water bottles, but we would easily just get a few at the Hideaway reception and at the gym on our way back to the room. The staff is super friendly and respectful. The food is great, especially the different restaurants a la carte. No complain. The wait for the buffet can be a bit long at rush hours only. There is a lot of seaweed in the water. The wifi works well in the entire hotel
