Went to Barrel and Co for Dinner - lovely eye fillet steak and Fish with Risotto. The salad had to much salad dressing on it - it was drenched. Went for buffet breakfast the next morning, It was average, lack of fresh fruit selection was a stand out... Good size restaurant. Exterior of the building looks like a commercial office building not a hotel. Handy location.

Honestly I’ve stayed in worst hotels. But given that this is a Pullman certain cleanliness standards should be maintained. I suspect the place is ran with minimal crew. The 2 receptionists that were at the front desk were doing barista, valet and porter duties. I’m not sure if that is normal here in NZ. Poor guys. Saw some who complained about the valet costing $49 (yes the price is up). But it’s pretty worth it considering the no. of times I asked them to pick up and drop off my car per day. A bowl of noodles in NZ cost $20 easily (which is insane). So from that perspective $49 is normal. Staff are junior but friendly. Beds are comfy. TV has international channels. Glad I stayed with them!

Staff was great. Had some technical issues with check in but they worked through it with us. The room was beautiful but lacked any furniture to put clothes in, we had to live out of the suitcase, not great for a massive sweet on the top floor. One day only a single towel was left. The staff always took care of us but it could have been better all around.

The room is just average standard for a 5 star hotel.. The service seemed like they were short staffed and not the most friendliest staff, even during check in. The room's door had visible hand marks even before going in plus the mirror in the bathroom also. Seems like its not the 5 star standard nor Accor standard compare to other hotels with similar star levels. Didn't think the value matched the price.. would consider this hotel more 3.5 to 4 star standard, not 5 star. Would say not bad if you consider the hotel standard as 3.5 to 4 star level
