Staybridge Suites Calgary Airport by IHG

The room is clean and quite large, the swimming pool and hot tub are pretty good. Only downside is that there was not enough body wash and conditioner. They did not refill the bottles. Breakfast is also nice, I love the bacon and the yogurt! The staff are nice as well. Would definitely come again in the future.

We booked this hotel for a reunion of 90 people. While their newly renovated rooms were great. The front end staff appeared to be a bit too relaxed and not very professional. One of the evenings there was a domestic assault issue. The front end staff definitely had no idea how to contain the situation and bring peace of mind to the guest around. The manager kept telling us to call the police cause he was swamped, but truly there was nothing it appeared he had to do. The staff appeared to look alarmed and scared of the situation. The women full of blood and a bruised child with another small child wandered the halls looking for help. At one point she had came into our common room where the reunion was being held handing off her baby. The other small child was left alone at the front as the women continued to pursue the room and where the incident happened. We stayed with the small child and gave her a snack to make sure she was safe alone. The room they were staying in was surrounded by bottles and yelling and crying within. (Why do i know that, the hotel staff told us the room number and information). The police arrived asking us to stay out of the halls as the front staff stood there stunned and very unprepared. This being the short story of that night and experience as a paying guest. Aside from that experience what seem to be homeless people were entering through the court yard fence. They continued to the pool (where the card locked door was broken and open to public) where they were using the facilities to clean themselves. They proceeded to ask the hotel staff for shampoo and cleaning products which resulted in many of us leaving the pool area. The pool was filthy full of a number of unsanitary items and debris. It was a very messy experience and one that much and many experiences could’ve been avoided by better, more prepared staff. No once did myself or some of the group I was with felt situations were being handled for peace of mind to all who were staying there. Unless you plan to go there not use the facilities, don’t need the staff to secure the building, and just hide in your room… I strongly suggest you pick another location.
