I can’t say enough wonderful things about this beautiful place!! The employees are beyond kind! It’s so beautiful and the breakfast is delicious! Also check out the spa it’s great!! And horseback riding with Miguel was the highlight!! The horses are so good & obviously so well-treated!! Loved every second of my ride!

Beautiful! We decided to get a guide this time and it was well worth it as a family! We got to not just see cool animals and sights but also got to learn fun facts about these critters and the area. And without them pointing out hidden animals we would have missed half of the amazing things here.

Overall pretty easy hike through one of Costa Rica's state park. During the off season and middle of the day the park is pretty empty. The cost is about $15 and allows for some beautiful views of the volcano at the halfway point once you walk across some lava stones. NOTE: The large tree that this trail is know for must have been struck by lightening a few months ago and therefore is in several pieces. If you are an arborist, and this was one of your main reason for going then you might want to avoid this trail. Taking off one star due to the fact that the state park website doesn't let you know that the tree is now destroyed.
