***Mold and Bed Bug Alert*** During our month-long honeymoon, we stayed at three hotels in Dubai and four hotels in Turkey (Antalya, Cappadocia, and Istanbul). Unfortunately, our experience at the Sur Hotel was nothing short of a disaster. We had chosen this hotel solely for its location. Upon arrival, we noticed several concerning issues. The hotel's ceilings were covered in mold, which posed a significant health hazard. Additionally, cabinet doors were broken, and we encountered bed bugs in our room. Since it was late at night when we checked in, changing hotels immediately wasn't possible. My wife started experiencing difficulty breathing and severe coughing during the night. The following morning, I attempted to cancel our nine-night booking early due to the unacceptable conditions. However, the owner or manager refused any refunds and simply told us, "Take it or leave it with no refunds," adding, "Do whatever you guys want to do. I don't care." We intend to contact the booking website and our credit card company for assistance, but we strongly advise others to steer clear of this hotel for the sake of their health and safety. It was undoubtedly the worst night of our honeymoon. I'm not typically one to write reviews, as I'm an easy-going person, but this experience was beyond anything I could have imagined. If I could give a negative rating, it would be -100. Please, do not stay at this hotel.

We're from Malaysia, and visited Istanbul in Dec 2023. The room was a decent stay for a short period of time. Suna and Hassan are very hospitable. The breakfast prepared by Suna was fantastic as compared to the 4 star hotel. The sea view from the rooftop during our breakfast was splendid.

A nice hotel, near the hagia Sophia and blue mosque. It's clean, close to the sultanahmet square and the staff is really friendly.

I stayed here at April 2022. It seemed like a good value for money to me - hence I booked this hotel. Pros: 1. Location: This is the most important advantage of this hotel. It’s close to most important attractions. Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque is just an 8-10 minute walk. The tram station is at walking distance so you can travel to distance places through this as well. 2. View: You can see the sea of Marmara from the terrace. It’s really great. 3. Wifi: Wifi is good. 4. Behavior: The receptionists are well behaved. 5. Value for money: It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect too much. The value for money is great in my opinion. Cons: 1. Management: They don’t do basic stuff like cleaning the room unless you ask them. 2. Room locks don’t work smoothly so it was a big hassle everytime we tried to lock or unlock our room. 3. Our room was spacious. However, twin/couple rooms are not of great size so you may feel suffocated. 4. AC or Room heater sometimes don’t work well. Overall recommended for budget travellers.
