We spent 5 nights in a king deluxe room. It was very clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect for visiting NYC - close to subway, shopping, eating, Broadway. The hotel does NOT have a sign outside the building and the lobby looks like a delivery entrance. I was worried when I arrived. But the staff was friendly and professional. They let us check our luggage since we arrived around 1 PM and we went for lunch. At 3, the room was ready and once I saw the room, I felt we would be comfortable. We will stay at the Herald again. The coffee maker was in the room but the coffee packages did not produce drinkable coffee. However, there is a busy coffee and breakfast cart just to the right of the entrance near the subway. A large coffee was $2 and a breakfast sandwich was $4. So it was a quick ride on the elevator to get my morning joe.

Great room - we lucked out - helped, as it rained throughout our 3 night stay. The room was large, and well maintained, with a great bathroom. Furniture, fixtures are dated, but did not bother us. Lobby is small, crowded, but there is a waiting room/lounge on a higher floor where a group or two can wait, if needed. Management was courteous, and the ride to the airport they arranged was great. Rooftop bar/restaurant visit did not happen because of the incessant rain. No complaints about our stay!

Nothing fancy, everything you need, nothing you don’t, as far as hotels go and a Great Price. And, what a great group of folks. José greeted us as if we were long lost friends, Jon offered to find us a room for early check in, and Lila had us checked in within minutes. Gil showed up that afternoon and knows the area like the back of his hand. He doesn’t just tell you where something is, he walks you out the door to show you. I have been coming to NYC for medical reasons for several years and stayed in many properties. This has the best staff of them all. Right next to a subway station, lots of places to eat and Macy’s right across the street. Even the gentleman from maintenance, who was called to our room the first day, recognized us in the elevator 2 days later and inquired about our room. If I must continue my trips, I will definitely reserve rooms at The Hereld LuxUrban.

Great location! Close to the Empire State Building. Walking distance to Times Square, Central Park and other great places, but also easy access to very nice neighborhoods like Chelsea, Greenwich Village and more... Herald Square across the street from the hotel, which gives you access to many subway lines. The hotel gives you access to a nice little terrace a couple stories up, but there is also a nice rooftop bar in the same building, with a great view of the ESB. Staff was nice and helpful. Room was clean and convenient. Very good hotel, in the heart of the city at a great price! Would definitely book again!
