This is an absolutely stunning hotel set in a prime location of London. With tons of eateries, shops, and major tourist spots within walking distance as well as embankment station being a 2 minute walk away, it surprisingly offers a quiet and calm atmosphere to return to each night. Their high tea was wonderful despite my skepticism about dining in the hotel. However, for being a 5 star hotel, I do have some complaints following our recent stay. We paid around $1300 for 3 nights and booked a Deluxe King Room. While the room itself was up to standards, our “king bed” was 2 small beds pushed together which obviously leaves an uncomfortable gap in the middle. The front desk offered little to no resolution as they were fully booked and sent maintenance to do their best to make the gap less uncomfortable. This just seems like an unacceptable way to host guests and is in ways a false advertisement for what we paid for. The complimentary water and 2 sodas are nice, but 4 additional waters and a couple more sodas sent to us was €56. It was also hard to reach the front desk at times. Overall, this hotel is an absolutely stunning old English style accommodation. I just wish the value for money matched.

We've lodged here twice already, unquestionably one of London's premier hotels in terms of value for money. The more renowned 5-star establishments don't offer much more but come with significantly higher price tags. The architecture, ambiance (including little things like the fragrance in the lobby or the real fireplace) friendliness of stuff and amenities (like a complimentary minibar) are truly first-rate. Undoubtedly, it boasts the ideal location for welcoming the New Year in the comfort of your hotel room. The rooms facing the London Eye not only provide a splendid view of the fireworks but also allow you to immerse yourself in the entire commentary and musical ambiance throughout the night. The sole drawback is that the windows aren't permitted to fully open due to regulations. We encountered an issue with room service once (waited for over an hour), but they extended their apologies, and ultimately, the meal was on the house. Also, finding a parking spot nearby doesn’t seem to be an easy task. Additionally, the lift control system lacks a certain intelligence, and if you rely on a wheelchair, their makeshift ramp becomes necessary. However, these are merely minor inconveniences.

Attended for a work conference. Very short walk from Embankment station - very easy to get to. Staff very friendly. The conference rooms I went to were lovely and big and facilities were great with screens and microphones. Food was tasty too

16 Dec 23: Afternoon tea · Even though there was the usual tree etc in reception, we were placed in an area with no Christmas decor or atmosphere. · The sparkling wine was between chilled and room temperature – disappointing. · The service was at best indifferent. Our coats were not taken until I called someone over and asked for this. · My dining partner’s hot drink was brought out, followed by the platter of cakes and sandwiches, sandwiches which were clearly not fresh, as the bread had a slight crunch. The scones were also too crispy. · Eventually, about 20 minutes after we arrived, my tea arrived. I thought at least it would be poured for me but no, I was given a strainer. The second pot I was given was not hot. · I was also disappointed to see that the toilets were not regularly serviced. The floor was wet, there was water across the work surface surrounding the sinks and the bin was full to overflowing (see pics). · At the end, even though it was clear we were ready to leave, we had to call for our coats. If you offer afternoon tea, attention to detail is critical, or we may as well get fast food. They need to up their game.

We chose to stay at the Royal Horseguards because of its proximity to the NYE fireworks and the party we booked at the hotel. It’s a great location which allows it to command a high price in exchange for a poor product. One can easily see this was a once great property that is now poorly maintained and managed. While our king room was spacious, its once luxurious features and finishes and carpets are sad and worn. The shower in the bathroom was riddled with moldy caulk a plenty in the shower pan. Saddest and perhaps most frustrating was opening the shower door after my shower to find the bathroom floor almost completely flooded. I was left a stack of towels to mop up the mess. Brilliant! Management could only offer me a lesser room or a next day maintenance visit. Pathetic.
