I’ll start with the negatives… the state of the rooms are ok, but I do expect a clean room. We found rubbish in the cupboards, dirty dishes in the dish washer, the floor has never been cleaned (I stayed for 12 days). I always had so clean the sink myself… so I don’t really know what the room service was doing. Just making the bed and getting the actual bin out. The good points: The personell at the counter are all warm heartedly welcoming and always kind. The breakfast was great, it’s not changing but you can eat very differently each morning even on a longer stay - you just have to choose yourself. In the lobby you can grab coffee and tea for free at all times! 😌

Thon Hotel Panorama is very nicely located in the city center, within walking distance to the Opera, the Central railway station and the city hall. The rooms are exceptionally bigger than in similar hotels and (at least some) feature even a small kitchenette, where you can warm up food, and a balcony with a nice view. The breakfast is very good and offers a large selection. However, if you like good coffee you might be a bit disappointed. They have regular coffee and a Nespresso machine but no facilities to get a cappuccino or similar - bit even hit milk. This was the only - small- disappointed for me.

An ok hotel. Not up to American standards. It lacked an AC making it hard to control the room temperature. The bathrooms in the two rooms I stayed in were strange in that the water goes all over the floor. It lacked things like bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The desk had uncomfortable chairs. Breakfast was great and there is free coffee and tea in the lobby. I did not sleep well, which is my primary metric. The beds were small and uncomfortable. My dust mite allergy flared up in these beds. Great location and walking distance from the train station.

We booked this hotel in March 2022 for July 14-16 202 with two superior rooms with balcony. We arrived July 14 with a note that they are closed for renovations. No communication, no direction on if we had a room for the night. Extremely frustrated! We stopped at another Thon and found out it was moved to that hotel, but we only get a regular room. Thon Cecil has been very nice, but not what we booked. Still no communication from Thon Panarama. I would think twice booking this hotel.

Good location very close to the train station, close to local amenities with helpful staff. Hotel rooms themselves are spacious enough with a good standard of finishing. Only slight let down is perhaps the lack of room service which is a problem for me as when I stay at this hotel my flight means I don't get to Oslo until 11 with most eateries close by then. All in all, my preferred hotel when staying in Oslo.
