As per the Guidelines for International Arrival published by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, 2% of the total flight passengers shall undergo random testing on arrival. Passengers shall be allowed to leave the airport post undergoing the test. Children under 12 years of age are exempted from post-arrival random testing.

In view of the guidelines published by MoCA order number 29017/14/2020-DT dated 10.05.2022 and DGCA order no. 4/1/ 2020-IR dated 08.06.2022 there must be strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols at the Airport and inside the aircraft. Passengers must wear a facemask at all times during the journey.

We at Guwahati Airport following various precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our personnel and passengers to prevent COVID-19 spread. These include:
  • No entry without face mask
  • Availability of hand sanitizers at all touch points
  • Regular sanitization of assets at all touch points
  • Arrangement for proper disposing of used masks, face shields etc.
  • We have displayed various signages across the terminal showing precautionary measures to avoid Covid-19 spread and promote awareness among the staffs & the passengers.

Frequent sanitisation is carried out across the terminal, and sanitiser dispensers are also placed at various locations of the terminal.

Please note, In case the passenger violates COVID protocols or refuses to wear mask even after repeated warnings then the following actions would be taken:-
  • Passengers without a facemask will not be permitted to enter the terminal. CISF personnel deployed at the entrance of the airport will ensure that no one is allowed to enter the airport without wearing a mask. 
  • At the airport, he/ she can be fined as per the State Law and he/ she may be handed over to Security Agencies for dealing with the matter as per the applicable law on the subject.
  • Before departure the passenger can be deboarded.  
  • During the course of the flight, such a passenger may be treated as “unruly passenger” and procedure in respect of handling such unruly passenger shall be followed by the concerned airline.

An unaccompanied minor is a child without the presence of a legal guardian. This term is used in immigration law and in airline policies. Generally UMNR's age is considered to be from 5 to 11 years, however it may vary w.r.t. to Airline procedure. The specific definition varies from country to country and from airline to airline. Yes, there are two baby care rooms available at the airport, equipped with changing facilities and other basic hygiene amenities. One at the departure SHA area and other at the entry of the arrival gate next to the reserve lounge.

Yes, airport offers barrier free access for passengers. There are reserved parking slots, ramps & special rest rooms for passengers with special needs. In addition, wheelchairs are available at the departure ramp. Customer service executives at the airport assist and guide you. In most cases, it is safe for women to travel by air with a normal pregnancy. However, a fitness certificate is required by a doctor, certifying that the pregnant lady is fit to travel by air. Women above 32 weeks of pregnancy are not allowed to travel by air. For further information, please get in touch with your respective airline.

Most airlines allow passengers with disabilities to take their wheelchairs with them. However, you should inform the airline about this when you book your ticket. If you have a battery-powered wheelchair, the battery must be disconnected to prevent short-circuiting when you check in. You should report at the check-in desk at the airport.
