The overall experience was poor a best. The hotel is not in the city center, but it is quite close by through a pedestrian tunnel, that is unfortunately quite dirty and with some beggars, unusual because most of the city center is squeaky clean. At arrival, the parking space requested through booking was not available. We were advised in advance that there was an option for an affiliated parking, but the receptionist was apparently not aware of it. At last he checked and confirmed that they have a reduced fare for the close-by Altstadtgarage. Some issues with retrieving the Booking documents and it took a while to confirm we had breakfast included. The receptionist -a black guy- was not straight up rude, but far from welcoming even by frigid Austrian standards. The rooms and hallways are frankly in severe need for a refurbishing. The carpetry feels real dirty; the bathroom is cramped and decrepit. A single, flat pillow on the bed, no spares or extras; towels were scarce, and wet towels were removed but not replaced. Very little room commodities (no A/C, fridge, teapot, slippers etc), wonky wifi. Breakfast was way better than expected, but at that point expectations were not exactly soaring. The check-out was much smoother than the check-in, with just a small mistake about the duration of the parking stay that the girl caught in time and was promptly fixed. I'd say you could live all through of these issues if the place was really dirt cheap, but it absolutely wasn't.

The worst hotel we stayed in. The rooms were so unclean. What really made it worst was the receptionist Babsi(short, blonde hair with a nose ring). The very moment we arrived at the reception there was no welcome, other than being rude & abrupt. It was just one sentence which was... "Your room will only be available may be 3pm, 4pm, 5pm and etc or after and that she didn't know the time (Mind you, your website states check-in is 3pm) We have travelled around the globe as a family and never have we met a very rude staff like Babsi. We are shocked that she is the face of the hotel and the first point of contact that could either make or break the business. In the hotel industry or any industry it not what you say, IT'S HOW YOU SAY IT. It's her job to show some common courtesy to the hotel guests. She needs to be given training about what customer service is. I will certainly not recommend this hotel to anybody including our industry partners. What Babsi needs to realise is her guest could be a prospective person that could really promote the hotel. Sadly she is too ignorant, lazy, rude and inconsiderate to realise that. It's really unfortunate that the owners have allowed her to continue on as a front line staff with her very bad attitude. Thank you in advance for looking into this at least any of your forthcoming guests wouldn't go through what we did with Babsi

The rooms are extremely small and lack the basic amenities like a refrigerator and kettle.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AND HORRIBLE!!! The first night that we checked in, we found a USED bath towel hanging on the rack and there were no new towels for us. So I went down to the reception to explain the situation and the receptionist said she will send someone. There was no apology for whatsoever. We also found the room very dirty. There is a walnut and a piece of plastic on the floor. The next day morning, I made a specific request to the reception to clean our room probably. But when we came back to the room in the evening, the beds are made but they didn’t clean the room. The hairs are everywhere. I went down and told them that the room is not clean. They came up with the excuse that I left the card on the door to not clean the room! It’s absurd! Why did I have to leave the card on if I specifically ask to clean the room. And I told them that someone came in our room for sure, because the beds are made and the towels are changed. Only that they didn’t swipe or vacuum the floors. And they came up with another excuse: they don’t vacuum the floor everyday. EXCUSE ME?!? Isn’t it the basic thing to do to run a hotel?!? So I ended up calling the cleaning team to vacuum the room in front of me!!!! Never seen a situation like that! Needless to say how rudes the staffs are!
