Staff went way above what is expected. Rooms very clean sand the breakfast was great. Easily one of the nicest front desk staff we have ever encountered. The reception area on the 8th floor was very well maintained and was above my expectations.

Stayed here 3 times, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. The city centre is a 2-minute bus ride away. The views from rooms at the front side of the hotel are amazing. There are plenty of lifts, disabled access is easy enough. The rooms are spacious, unlike some we have seen, the restaurant is good, you could go there and not leave the hotel, other than going on tours like the northern lights etc. The pick-up for any tours stops right outside the hotel entrance.

It's a nice hotel. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was mostly nice (granted some of the food did seem old as the pancakes were very dry even with syrup and the omelets were cold). Unfortunately, the spa is only open a during the day so if you go out exploring don't expect to come back to enjoy it as it closes at 8. This unfortunately was a very early closure for us as we were here on vacation and went out sightseeing and exploring. We wanted to come back after a long day and enjoy it but it had already closed. This makes it seem like you have to either choose between enjoying iceland or staying in the hotel (which seems pointless if you are going somewhere on vacation). I've also stayed at other hotels that offer a laundry service. While they do offer laundry service it does not seem like a quick process and they charge per piece. We had been out exploring on a very rainy day and just wanted to dry our outfits at the last but ended up just staying in the wet clothes as it didn't seem worth the hassle. Overall, I'm not sure I would recommend this hotel for the price as it is not convenient or tourist friendly.
