My fiancé and I had a really great time at this hotel. We stayed in a beautiful suite that was clean, comfortable, and had everything you need a hotel room to have. I got a massage at the spa, and I was so comfortable and relaxed. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and the indoor pool. Breakfast was very good. The bartender was extremely friendly. The front desk staff were very helpful with booking tickets and calling the taxi service for us, and they held onto our bags for several hours before our check in time and after we had checked out so we could do some things in town without needing to get a locker. Easy walk from anything you want to do or see. Only downside was how limited the hours for the spa/pool were. They closed at 7 or 8pm which was really too early.

Just finished a week of skiing in Zermatt with SKICAN. We stayed 7 nights at Hotel Sonne and the place was great. Excellent meals, beautiful rooms and great staff made you feel welcome the moment you arrived. It is located a short walk off the Bahnhofstrasse in a nice quiet area of Zermatt. Their complementary shuttles get to the lifts / train easily in the morning. Highly recommended place for your visit to Zermatt.

We travelled and stayed here as part of a group. Hotel was in a quiet location but up quite a steep hill. Hotel had an indoor pool and a couple of hot tubs, one outside. They were very nice facilities along with a small gym. Rooms were a little dated but functional. We had upgraded our room to a mini suite but on arrival there was no tea and coffee in the room. It is listed as a facility on the hotel website. To cut a long story short, as we were part of a group we were not entitled to some facilities including the tea and coffee. All the other hotels we stayed in on this tour had tea and coffee in the room. It seems unfair to withdraw some facilities just because we were part of a group, especially as we had paid to upgrade. This was also apparent when we checked out when luggage was due to be transported to the station but as part of a group we had to pay extra. We declined. Some of the staff were very friendly while some quite grumpy. The manager was not very helpful when trying to resolve issues. Food was OK...but again, the buffet at breakfast was different if you were not travelling as part of a group. Overall a below average stay and we would not stay here again.
