I had a terrible experience at a hostel I stayed at on a previous trip to another country, and I want to tell you that this is not the case at this hostel. First of all, the man at the reception desk was friendly and helpful even with my poor English. Thank you very much. And the interior of the hostel was very stylish and I never got tired of looking at it. There is an area on the front floor where you can smoke outside, which was very nice for me as a smoker. The bathrooms are shared with everyone on the floor, but they are separate for men and women and lock securely, so I felt safe using them. Disposable hand towels are provided, and there is a hair dryer in the room that can be used freely, which was very nice. There was a refrigerator in the shared kitchen space and there was a tag next to the fridge to write my name on, which was nice. The bed in the bedroom had a curtain that could be closed to create a completely private space so I could sleep in peace. I never used the locker key because the one I had brought with me was too small. Nothing was lost, so I thank the ladies who stayed in the same room with me for that. The hostel is very conveniently located, close to where we met for our bus tour, and within easy reach of all the places we wanted to go downtown. It was my first trip to Iceland and I was so disappointed that I could only stay for 2 days, but it was a wonderful 2 days for me. I will use Kex hostel again when I come back to Iceland. Thank you very much.

A wonderful hostel at the centre of Reykjavík. It has rooms with bunk beds of 4 till 20. So choose wisely. Live music downstairs and good Pizza along with it. Just that the hostel reception is in the floor above the road. Or, there's a back door straight from the road behind. Parking is general parking, there's nothing private. But you'll find it. Common kitchen with utensils and sometimes free food! There are some private washrooms and few common bathrooms. Early mornings and late nights, it's pretty free to use. Enjoyed the stay with Kex. Thanks guys.

Genuinely the best Hostel experience I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere. Comfortable clean accommodations. Friendly helpful staff. The kitchen was well stocked and kept in good order. There were a few private showers in addition to the group ones. And plenty of common spaces for lounging and hanging out.

My first time staying in a hostel and I am genuinely impressed, there are so many misconceptions about hostels that made me hesitant to try, but I'm so glad I did! This hostel is in a great location, when you come out of the front door the lovely sea is just opposite, and it's a short walk/bus from lots of things in Reykjavik. The place is quite clean and well kept, there's plenty of storage for food in a nice, big kitchen area. There's also a wonderful bar, a great place to meet friends as I did! Thank you for the stay. I will be back :)
