Breakfast was so good. The pastries and options of yogurts and bits were amazing. The room was comfy but so outdated. I wouldn't rate it 4 stars, the kettle took 5 minutes to work! All so old! The location is quite far but good if you are getting domestic flights. We slept fine but we probably would want to not be next to an airport! Staff were friendly.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been! Was clean but old, you can see how they do minimum maintenance. This hotel is more likely to be a hostel than an hotel. Radiators are not good enough to warm up the room! Can you believe a got cold for sleeping in the hotel rather than in the camper van at minus 10 degrees? Honestly was so cold! The heating was off when we open the door…not welcoming at all. One of the receptionist very cold while talking to me, I asked her to have together the bed she didn’t even ask me, also we wanted to get to Spa and she could have advised us the Spa closes at 7pm how you do not inform about that? Anyway…very little hotel for the price I paid I could have been anywhere else BETTER for sure.

I booked a last minute night stay here in the winter. It is in a decent location, but definitely a bit out of the way. And I was a little disappointed with their direct online booking system. The prices appeared better than on travel sites, but I wasn't able to complete the booking on the web. And when given pricing at the desk, it was higher for a lower tier room. I have found that to be the case at a few places. But as I chose this hotel over others that had more free amenities included because of the lower price, I was taken back when it was more expected. The nespresso machine in the room was nice, however ours did not work correctly and overfilled the coffee cups. Rooms are nice, quiet and clean.

One of the best places we've stayed in Iceland. The staff are adorable and attentive, the room very pleasant and the bedding of a very high quality. We also took advantage of the SPA area (highly recommended!) where several baths and treatments are available, and the restaurant buffet was very good. The hotel as a whole is extremely comfortable, with different relaxation areas, different atmospheres and lots of peace and quiet. We enjoyed everything. But if we had to find points for improvement, the first hour at the SPA was shared with a rather noisy group of people, which made relaxation more complicated. We also found the restaurant a little too expensive for the choice and quality of the buffet dishes (everything was very good, but slightly below expectations for the prices charged). Finally, we were unable to use the TV in the room as the screen-sharing function was not working. Nevertheless, the stay was excellent in every respect and these are just a few small comments. One of the most beautiful discoveries of Reykjavik, we will return without hesitation!

I recently spent three delightful days at this charming hotel. Its historic ambiance, tasteful renovations, and proximity to the Northern Lights viewing point made it a memorable stay. However, the receptionist's demeanor was a bit off-putting, contrasting with the otherwise warm atmosphere. The hotel's restaurant offered exceptional cuisine, although on the pricier side. I'd recommend exploring nearby dining options for variety. Nevertheless, the convenience of witnessing the Northern Lights just moments away from the hotel was the highlight of my stay. Overall, despite some minor drawbacks, the hotel's character, location, and nearby attractions make it a worthwhile choice for those seeking both history and natural wonders.
