If you're looking for a hotel in an amazing location and unforgettable views this is the one. The hotel is only accessible via the Gornergrat Tram which travels up the mountain, the journey up the mountain (30 mins) is beautiful but the tram only runs every half hour and the last trip to Riffelhaus is at approx 7pm. The tram tickets are very expensive, but if you get a ski pass you can get a deal but for 3 days skiing and the tram tickets for all 3 days it was approx $900 AUD. If you pre-purchase, it will be cheaper as they charge "surge" pricing when busy. Dinner / Breakfast (half board) was excellent, you get a set menu every night but they did accommodate to dietary requirements and the food was excellent. We had 4 courses each night and you were never left hungry. The team were amazing and really went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The spa / sauna has a view of the Matterhorn and is a must. The hotel feels very intimate as they only have about 25 rooms so in the evenings you feel that you have the mountain to yourself. The 'easy' ski runs near the resort are not so easy, but for a more confident skiier it would be excellent. The hotel has a beautiful balcony area where you can have a coffee or a wine during the day after skiing and it's worth a stop. Huge thank you to the whole team who were exceptional! Can't wait to come back one day!

The location was just so inspirational. The hotel is small and very clean, every window in our room had an amazing mountain view. It’s one of those places you will never forget .

Although we came only for a quick drink during our MTB adventure we were amazed by the views and the location of the hotel. Waiters were very quick and pleasant and the staff in the hotel was very kind and helpful. Food looked great on the other tables but we had to continue our ascent to Gornegrat.

Very nice and cosy hotel located at 2500m, in the middle of all 4000m summits. Very central place for both shorts and longer hikes (depends on the motivation :)) Rooms have been recently renovated and very cosy. The SPA area is incredible, and we spent 6 hours (in 2 days) in the hammam, sauna, and jacuzzi area. Lovely. A good recommendation to spend a different experience, compared to staying in central Zermatt ;)

Even though the location was amazing and the room was in perfect condition the service was really not what we could expect from a 4 ⭐️ We had the supper at the hotel and we’ve felt really sick all night. The staff was really not friendly or helpful, they even were rude to some points. To top it off, I realized after 4 days that I forgot my bikinis in the bathroom (and I’m 100% sure of it). They « couldn’t find it »… but as I’m responsible for forgetting about it I can’t press charges. Long story short, highly disappointed.
