Great central location to explore Oslo. We had 2 rooms, the one was more spacious than the other so worth checking room types when booking. Beds and pillows were comfortable and I liked the wall mural above the bed. Service was friendly and breakfast buffet was extensive and very good.

My favorite hotel. Everything is remarkable, the hotel,the staff, the rooms, the breakfast, the location. I would say the staff is the real asset of the hotel, very polite and professional taking care of customers needs to the best of their abilities, going that extra mile to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Scandic St. Olavs plass is a very average hotel in my opinion. It's not great, but it's not either. The beds were a bit harder than my liking, and you could hear people talking in other rooms, which does make it harder to sleep, but that's about the extent of the noise I experienced. Room and window faced the inside of the building, however. The service was very mid. It was fairly quick and smooth, but gave more of an impression that you were interrupting something. On the booking page for the hotel, Scandic's own website, it also said on the information about the rooms that the room I booked had a desk and chair. On the receipt confirmation after booking and paying, it said that my room might have a desk and chair. My room had neither. Which was greatly disappointing as that was a reason I booked that room, since it was a trip that included paperwork. The breakfast buffet had a very decent selection of food, but it was very crowded and no noise control so there were people yelling to each other, and finding seating was a challenge each morning. There was quite a delightful choice of fresh, warm bread, paired with the dullest bread knives around which made cutting said bread difficult for anyone not afraid of risking a finger or four.
