Shali is a fantastic place to stay. It is cozy, quiet and centrally located, making it an easy walk to most major sites. The owner is very kind and helpful. When we return to Rome, we will definitely stay here again.

I am editing my review because I later learned that I was overcharged for the city tax and made to pay this in cash. Be ware of this when you are checking in. It is in a fantastic location right in the centre of Rome near the Spanish Steps. It is clean and has a fabulous, large terrace overlooking Via Frattina. The host was there to greet us at check in and offer some recommendations around the area. He also ensured we were happy with the room and had everything we needed. The nearby shopping on Via del Corso and Via dei Condotti is incredible and we were able to walk to most attractions, with the exception of the Colosseum which was only a short taxi ride away. The room is small however. There were 3 of us and we barely fit but we were hardly in our room so that wasn’t important to us. The cot was very uncomfortable though compared to other hotels. I would stay at this hotel again, perhaps with only 2 people though instead of 3, and highly recommend it.

Same as reviewer below, overcharged on tourist tax. Very disappointing! Otherwise a fine mini hotel/apartment (no kitchen), only 4 rooms total. Good location with shops right outside the door. Bathroom wasn't very clean. Double bed very small.

This is small hotel in the middle of all amazing shops and cafes. It’s also a very short walk to Spanish steps and the fountain. If you walk in any direction you will find an old historic building around this hotel. We are so happy we chose this cute hotel vs going to a big hotel. It’s give you the Luxury feeling but also how is it to Live in downtown Rome with other locals that live here. Great location ! And great service too. The guy how welcomed us was using WhatsApp to Make sure when we are coming. He let us check in at 11am. He was ready by 9am but we couldn’t make it on time until 11am. He was messaging me make sure everything is ok
