When you enter the hotel your first impression might be a wow. The team welcomes you nicely and the lobby looks cool. But when you look behind the curtain, it may change quick. We had issues with the payment, because of a high deposit, they tell you at the desk or in a mail you get shortly before your stay starts. The team was unfriendly and not trying to help. Finally we offered a solution that worked. Nice job guys! The room was looking great, but is very small. The bathroom is amazing, like the bed. If you travel alone, it might fit, as a couple you ran out of space if you have more with you than a backpack with things for a weekend. The fitness room is just a bit of equipment in the basement. "working out" there is nothing you would enjoy. But you will find some cockroaches as company. The hotel has a perfect sport to explore New York, Train stations are close buy and you find many cool spots just around the corner. 3 Stars because of the rooms and the service. 5 Stars for the location in New York.

Basically it was ok... But the unspeakable destination fee ($30 per day) is the main reason for me not to book this hotel again in the future. The destination fee is for wifi, fitness centre, two bottles of water, luggage storage, etc... Things that are simply included in every other hotel! Attention: When I booked last November, this was NOT pointed out, I booked including all taxes and fees! When we checked in, there was a surprise...

Perfect location. Staff are amazing and always available. Check-in was easy, and they even arranged our ride to the airport on departure day. Easy to sleep at night and excellent food so close. Battery Park is so close. And there are heaps to see and do within minutes. Great shopping for sovereigns, too. Would highly recommend giving The FIDI a try.

I enjoyed my 3-night stay at the Fidi, which was steps away from the Subway (about a 30 minute ride to Brooklyn) and from nearby restaurants on the same block. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. I do recommend there to be a mini fridge, an electric water kettle and an iron to be placed in the rooms. However, when I needed the steamer for my clothes, the staff responded promptly. I also had a brief issue with very loud guests in the room next to mine, and the staff handled it professionally and swiftly - I heard no noise after they issued a 2nd warning to them. There is a lounge upstairs that is well designed and perfect for summer nights. Many thanks to Ibrahim and the whole staff - from front desk to housekeeping - for creating a kind and welcoming experience. I would definitely return when I'm in New York again.

I called several times to confirm my reservation and inquire about parking and I was assured that my stay was paid in full. Then when it came time for me to check out and pay for parking fee I was suddenly informed of a $35 resort fee that was being tacked on to my stay. Beyond unprofessional and gross, by all means pick a different hotel isn't devious or deceptive in the pricing and fees.
