To celebrate my daughter’s college graduation, we chose The Madrid Edition. This was the perfect hotel, in the perfect location. Easy to walk to Plaza Mayor, Grand Via and the Royal Palace, as well as great restaurants in the area such as Salmon Guru. The lobby was under construction, which was frustrating BUT the hospitality of the staff made up for it. A shout out to Hector Sanchez, the Chief Concierge who went above and beyond to help make our experience the most memorable at The Edition. From his excellent dinner recommendations, spa/massage treatment and his warm and approachable demeanor he really made us feel right at home. The spa was beautiful, and I loved the gym. We had a small issue with our room at check in (Hector fixed it in no time!) and we had a quiet, spacious and comfortable room. Madrid is an amazing city with many options to choose from. Don’t go crazy looking at others hotels- pick The Edition, you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be returning guests!

We had a very mediocre experience staying at this hotel. The bed was not comfortable and the design of the shower had no ventilation, so there was a strong smell of stagnant water when you enter the shower. The room was also quite loud, we could hear things through the walls all night. We were also overcharged for our booking which had to be rectified. The pros were the location was good within walking distance to a lot of things and we enjoyed a nice tapas meal in the lobby as well as great drinks on the rooftop. Service was also decent. I would recommend stopping here for a drink in the lobby or rooftop, but I would not stay here again.

The Madrid Edition is a wonderful gem. Although the brutalist exterior architecture is unforgiving, the interior is peaceful given the chaos you’re likely to experience on the Madrid sidewalks. The bar is welcoming and the bartenders are energetic. The best feature of this hotel is the rooftop pool, which if you’re experiencing it on a weekday on midday, is beautiful. But I can see it being busy towards the weekends. There are a limited number of chairs for sunbathing but the attendants are friendly and the service is good.

Very disappointed with this hotel from the standpoint of their rooms and cleanliness. While the staff were very nice upon check-in, the reality is my room was very worn out, with a sofa covered in old stains. The room overall was not particularly stylish or comfortable - I was "upgraded to a king bed room" which had a view just into a building next door - not particularly nice. In addition, the hotel lobby and the hallways all smelled like sewage. I don't know if this is because the building itself is old or what but I was so surprised that a 5 star hotel wouldn't have figured out how to mask the odor. I'd never use my points or free night awards here again, let alone reserve a night outright. It was so underwhelming and odd that I decided to stay elsewhere at an Airbnb with a friend because it just wasn't a pleasant environment.

I love edition hotels, their great vibe, smell and luxury. But this one stands apart. It’s below standards. A lot. Check in was a cascade of deceptions. Were supposed to get an early check in but got it 1 hour after posted regular check in and luggage an other hour later. The rest followed in the same vein. No turndown, renovations in room adjacent, etc. Great lobby but full by outsiders who occupy all space. Looks great but… Rooms ok but oversold specs. All the same. Premier view not worth extra 100euros. Also sound proofing bad. I could ear neighbor snoring and talking. Will not come back.
