Why to Choose Tatkal Train Ticket Booking
We are aware of how difficult it may be to obtain confirmed train tickets, especially when making a last-minute travel plan. The Tatkal train ticket booking is useful in this situation. A tatkal ticket booking, as the name implies, is intended for last-minute travel plans, and can be booked just one day prior to the departure date. For those who plans a train journey during summer vacations, busy festival seasons, extended weekend holidays, etc., tatkal train ticket booking is a huge comfort.
What to Remember When Booking Tatkal Train Tickets
Seats in the AC and Non-AC compartments are allocated in advance on trains having tatkal quotas. Tatkal train reservations can be made online through Adani One and IRCTC official websites as well as offline at railway ticket booths. But keep in mind that the tatkal window is only open for one hour. For all seats other than the first AC, tatkal tickets can be reserved for an additional fee on a first-come, first-served basis. Tatkal train tickets are issued for the actual distance travelled, subject to any relevant train-specific distance restrictions.
Tatkal Tickets Booking Time
For AC tickets, tatkal train booking begins at 10:00 am, while for non-AC seats, it begins at 11:00 am. Bookings for tatkal train seats must be made precisely one day in advance of the trip. For instance, if the train departs on the 10th, you must purchase your Tatkal tickets on the 9th. Below is the table for more clarity:
