The Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, popularly known as Agartala Airport, is an international airport located 12 km northwest of Agartala. During WWII, the fourth Combat Cargo Group used this airfield to provide ammunition and other necessities. The Airports Authority of India is in charge of the full operation of this airport (AAI).
