Stay at the hotel felt very luxurious - room was spacious, clean and well decorated. The staff at the hotel were also extremely professional and helpful in organising our stay as well. The staff were able to help us organise local restaurants, and also free shuttle bus transfers both to and from the hotel on a daily basis depending on our plans for the day. The staff were also was able to send us items we'd left behind to our next destination in Tokyo as well, which was extremely appreciated. There was not too much difficulty navigating a language barrier either. The team were able to communicate with us in English, and all email communications were also done via English as well. Large variety of cocktails and drinks available with unique options as well. Included buffet breakfast was great - the main on offer each morning during our stay was also different each day. Overall 10/10 would recommend.

Don’t put up a bar sign or dare to even use the bar concept when you’re not even open for walk-in guests, it’s super misleading and time wasting. We were greeted by a staff/bartender at an empty bar and was put on some type of Google translating device for us to speak English into, in which she told us to leave the bar because we had no bar reservations. We have nothing against the policy of “guests only” but the sign outside the road is super misleading.

Interesting "concept" hotel built around "drinks culture". Basically, it's a bar surrounded by rooms and the bar (which is only open to hotel guests) is the center of your stay. A long list of cocktails, whiskeys, and other spirits are all included in your room price (with a slight premium on selected spirits). Expert bartenders stand at the ready to mix and pour these excellent cocktails and you can enjoy an uplifted bar menu here as well. There is a large wood-burning fire pit in the middle of this lounge which adds to the appeal and cozy, nightclub-type experience. Off to the side, through a hidden doorway can be found a cigar smoking area. True to the spirit of the Hakone area, there are two large onsen baths (one indoor and one outdoor with ladies and gentlemen alternating baths each day). There is also a private onset which can be reserved in advance. Rooms are large and sort of masculine with dark woods and carpets. Bathrooms are on the small side which is typical of an onset hotel in this area. All in all an interesting place to spend the night especially if you like a nice cocktail!

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Hakone. We took a bullet train from Tokyo Station to Odawara Station. The hotel was kind enough to pick us up from the bus station and drive us to the hotel. Each guest gets a welcome champagne toast when they welcome you into the hotel. Then dinner starts at 7 PM. The driver drives you to a local steakhouse called Itoh By Nobu for your 7pm meal. The meal is a set course of for appetizers, one main dish, one desert, one beverage, and one cup of coffee or tea. After dinner, the driver drive you back to the hotel. The drinks at this hotel are unlimited. Snacks are also unlimited. The onsen is quiet beautiful at night. They burn a beautiful fireplace which smells of the nice burnt firewood. The sauna is amazing. The water is clear, and the onsen is beautifully clean. The drinks are made from top shelf liquor and you can request a bartender to make you a special drink that’s not on the menu. We stayed here for one night for two people and had a wonderful experience. In the morning you can go for a 15 minute walk where you can see the local waterfall. The breakfast was amazing as well because it was a light affair Buffet style.
