Usually, the permissible weight of your check-in baggage depends on the airline you have chosen to fly with and the class of travel. On most domestic flights, the standard baggage weight allowed per passenger is 15 kg (1 piece only). Additional baggage of 10 kg may be allowed if you have booked multiple seats. Read the airline's baggage allowance policy before you travel.
One handbag weighing up to 7 kg and measuring not more than 115 cm (L+W+H) is allowed per passenger. The dimensions of your hand baggage must not exceed 55cm x 35cm x 25cm. For safety, handbags must be placed under the seat in front or inside the overhead bin. In addition to the one piece of hand baggage permitted, you are allowed an additional personal item such as a purse or a small laptop bag (up to or less than 3 kg).

The Adalaj Stepwell is located in a village by the same name in Gandhinagar city around 18 Km from Ahmedabad’s Kalupur Railway station. This stunning architectural beauty constructed out of sandstone stands five stories tall and has an octagonal shape. This classical architectural piece built in 1499 perfectly combines geometric designs and Islamic floral patterns. There are large windows on every floor that let the light and air in and paint the intricately carved pillars on each floor in a different colour depending on the position of the sun throughout the day or the moon at night. Three different entrance stairs lead into the stepwell. One notable feature of the place is that the navgraha is believed to protect the temple from all evil spirits. Thousands of visitors visit the Adalaj Stepwell to witness the breathtaking view from the windows on the first floor. There are several pillars present in the Adalaj Stepwell, and every floor is spacious enough to hold up to 100 people at a time. Apart from still providing water to the people in the surrounding areas, this is also a place of worship.
Located in the south-eastern part of Ahmedabad, the Kankaria Lake near the Maninagar area is the second-largest lake in Ahmedabad and was built in 1451. It sports various tourist attractions such as a zoo, aquarium, kids city, toy train, tethered hot-air balloon ride, water rides, and an expansive pedestrian walking area. The lake itself is around 4 sq Km wide. This is a very popular tourist destination that has a footfall of around 70 lac people on weekdays alone, with over 1.18 crore people already having visited the lake after it was reopened to the public. The lake has an island that encompasses Nagina Wadi, a popular garden floating right in the middle. Kankaria lake is emerging as a major arts and culture platform and often hosts musical nights, light and sound shows, and fireworks displays as well. Before the pandemic struck, the week-long Kankaria Carnival held every year in December drew large crowds.
Nal Sarovar, which translates to Tap Lake, is a famous tourist spot that is home to a large variety of bird species, both migratory and local. This bird sanctuary comprises nearly 36 islands, making it an ideal breeding ground for birds who find ample food and nesting spaces here. The Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary is located at Sanand village, around 64 Km from Ahmedabad city in Gujarat. The site, declared a sanctuary in 1969, is spread across a vast area of around 121 sq Km. One thing which attracts a bunch of tourists is the wide variety of migratory birds that are often seen here. With nearly 200 bird species, it is one of the biggest bird sanctuaries in India and the largest in Gujarat. An absolute paradise for casual visitors, bird watchers, and photographers, this place is buzzing with people throughout the year, with the winters drawing in the largest crowds. State transport buses and private taxis are easily available here throughout the day.
Sabarmati Ashram, also known as Harijan Ashram was originally established in Kochrab, Ahmedabad and was later shifted to the banks of the Sabarmati river in 1917. It was earlier called Satyagraha Ashram and was home to Mahatma Gandhi from its inception up to 1930 when he vowed not to step foot into the ashram till India was a free country. This was also the place that marked the beginning of the Dandi March on March 12, 1930, towards Dandi around 275 Km away. Though he never visited the ashram again, the place was converted into a museum to pay homage to the ideology of the Mahatma. The museum now houses various artefacts used by Mahatma Gandhi and related to the freedom struggle, paintings, letters, and photographs. The site is well connected and one can take a local bus, train which connects all major cities of India with Ahmedabad, or travel by air to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport in Ahmedabad which is just 11 minutes away to get to the ashram.
Over the past few years, the Sabarmati Riverfront has been gaining a lot of traction in the form of tourists and emerged as one of the most popular tourist spots in Ahmedabad city. The riverfront provides an 11.4 Km long walkway for pedestrians, whereas the lower part of the promenade serves cyclists as well as pedestrians alike. The aim of the project was to provide the city with a meaningful waterfront environment around the Sabarmati river banks and redefine the identity of rivers in a positive manner. Sabarmati Riverfront is now not only a popular hangout for locals and travellers but also birds, as close to 120 species of migratory and native birds congregate here. The stunning river view with the chirping of birds is a pleasant combination. So, if you want to spend time with your friends and family while sitting close to nature, a visit to the Sabarmati Riverfront is all you need.
Just opposite the Dadar (East) railway station, the Swaminarayan Temple located in Mumbai, India is one of the most beautiful temples you will ever come across. It is managed by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and recently celebrated 30 years since its construction. It is one of the most prominent and most visited Swaminarayan temples in Mumbai. The structure is constructed almost completely in pink stone, which gives it a beautiful calm look against the backdrop of one of the most crowded suburbs in Mumbai. The temple houses 24 avatars of gods and has 5 pinnacles. This place is open to visitors on all days of the week. In addition, the visiting time of the temple is between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. That allows people to offer their prayers throughout the day. Besides, if you want to experience the Aarti sessions, you can reach the temple by 7 a.m., or 7 p.m.
Best time to visit Ahmedabad is between either the months of March to May or November to February. The weather is very pleasant during these months, making it easier to see the magnificent sights the city offers.
Also known as the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad Airport is situated in Shamshabad. It's about 24 km south of Hyderabad. The airport has one passenger terminal, one cargo terminal and two runways. You can take a cab, the bus or even the metro to reach the airport.

Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah began construction on the Mecca Masjid in 1614, and it was finished by Aurangzeb in 1693. This mosque, made from native granite, is not only the largest in Hyderabad but also one of India’s biggest. The tombs of all the Nizams dating back to 1803 are shown in the arched gallery. As per historical records, Sultan Muhammad Qutub invited many religious elders to lay the foundation stone, but when no one volunteered, he did it himself. He also never missed the midnight prayer. Regarding the mehrab, there is a high barrier wall on the west side. It features two massive octagonal columns made from a single block of granite. This, in turn, is capped by an arched gallery with a dome on top.
The Golconda fort is situated in the western part of Hyderabad and was originally named Mankal and was built in the 12th century. Later, during the rule of the Bahmani dynasty, it was fortified and served as a capital for both the Bahmani and its successor, the Qutub Shahi dynasty.
Charminar translates to four minarets. The Charminar is located in the heart of the city. The architecture of the minaret is eloquent in every possible way. It was built by Quli Qutub Shah in 1591 and it remains one of the best places to see in Hyderabad. The monument has become a symbol of Hyderabad around the world and is one of India’s most well-known structures. It has also been legally integrated as the Telangana Emblem. For more than 425 years, the Charminar has housed a mosque on its top floor. While historically and religiously significant, it is also recognised for the surrounding bustling local markets. As the city’s primary mosque—Makkah Masjid—is just across the road, the Charminar is also the site of many holiday celebrations, such as Eid-ul-Adha and Eid al-Fitr.
Ramoji Film City, a film studio near Film Nagar, will transport you to another universe. It can be reached via bus or cab. Many tours and travel companies offer transportation from various locations in Hyderabad to Ramoji Film City. The film studio complex lies in Hyderabad’s Hayathnagar neighbourhood. Ramoji Film City is a big integrated film studio that was built in 1996 on about 2,000 acres of land and is recognised by the Guinness World Records as the “World’s Largest Studio Complex”. It is also a major tourist destination and entertainment centre, attracting over 1.5 million visitors each year. Mr. Ramoji Rao, a Telugu film producer who had always wanted to develop a studio similar to Universal Studios in Hollywood, is the man behind Ramoji Film City. Although it took years, he finally managed to create this massive film studio, which also has gardens, an amusement park, and a butterfly zoo on the premises.
