Location is great on walkigg no distance to most sights of the city center and with free parking available on the streets nearby. Beds were comfortable and the price is competitive. Unfortunately heating in the room where I stayed in the basement was not really sufficient. Self service check in and check out was smooth and painless. Breakfast was replenished throughout the hours.

A really nice breakfast for a cheaper guesthouse (warm tasty bread- even carrot and beat root bread!, good quality dairy, ok coffee), Very friendly and responsive service. The standards in guesthouses in Reykjavik in general seem lower than in the EU (towels on pickup, not all equipment worked, no kettle/tea in the room, a really basic bathroom with no air refresher for the sulphuric smell, needs refurbishment, no reply to the written messages, phones only picked up in the morning), so not sure how to rate it. Although the price is still high for the average customer (£90-125, hotels are £200).

This was by far the worst guesthouse we went to on our trip to Iceland. When entering the building, a nauseating smell comes from the filthy bathroom which by the way is not clean at all. I almost threw up when I had to use it in the morning (during our stay, I prefered using toilets at restaurants to avoid using theirs). I didn't take a shower there because it's just impossible ! The room wasn't great either, there were multiple spots on the sheets and the pillows were horrible. I obviously didn't use the kitchen either... There were boxes all over the building that makes you feel like you are on a construction site. On top of that, the reception is in another building and you can get towels only on demand in "the other building". If you have a car, it's difficult to park. Breakfast was meh. Too expensive for what it is. Don't go there !
