2 weeks before our stay in Reykjavik Guesthouse, we stayed in another guesthouse in the city, so that this accomodation was seriously lacking in comparison. Our room was really quite nice. I liked the furniture and the interior design. The room was not ready when we arrived, but in hindsight that was a positive occurance as we could observe, that new and clean sheets were used to make up the bed. Sadly the room was a bit dusty and hadn't been cleaned for a while. I wouldn't want to use the kitchen for cooking as it seemed filthy and messy. One bathroom for 10 people was a bit annoying and as you can imagine difficult to keep clean as well. I don't mind blotchy wallpaper, drafty windows or unlockable doors, as long as it is clean. The location is really good, though.

Host would not leave me alone. Constantly texting me and my friend and coming into my room to smell the bedsheets??? Very uncomfortable and felt very unsafe. My friend was also body shamed, told her hair was a mess which is completely out of hand and very disrespectful.

Unfortunate long time since I've had such a bad accommodation! Was in Rekjavik for a week for an Erasmus stay. My room was extremely small, the light didn't work the whole week, supposedly because the electrician had to come. Had to help me out with two floor lamps. The kitchen is actually useless - extremely tidy, untidy and dirty. The bathroom was only cleaned very superficially... Everything was very, very run down. This time, unfortunately, I fell in extremely badly, it's been a long time since I've had such a bad place to stay. Please find something else. (Wanted to leave my suitcase at the accommodation until evening on departure day - would have cost me 1000 kroner extra.)

Unwelcoming host. We had to pay 8 euros per bag to leave them in the guesthouse when we arrived with our luggage 2 hours before check in. Any guesthouse would place them somewhere in the house to let their guests enjoy the city of Reykjavik without 40kgs of luggage to carry around, but this greedy host is not hospitable at all. She stormed in our room without knocking. Place is ok, but bathroom and especially toilet were dirty and smelly. One bathroom for 4 rooms turned out to be not enough. For people arriving with early or late flights, go somewhere decent. Never again.
