This place is at a very convenient location; it is less than 5 minutes away from Hallgrimskirkja. The rooms are small and share the bathroom. The bathroom and the room don't have rugs; no way to dry if your feet get wet. Decent breakfast and it starts at 7 am.

Pros: -Clean and tidy guesthouse. -The room was comfortable and curtains blocked most light. -Yummy breakfast included. -Extremely convenient location in the middle of Reykjavik. -Shared kitchen available for guests to use in afternoon and evening. -Access to microwave, mini fridge, hot water heater in shared space (separate from main shared kitchen). Cons: -It was inconvenient to use three different keys to get through all the doors to enter my room. -The kitchenware was limited in the shared kitchen. -Not a good option if you are in a wheelchair. Of note: -They have guest rooms in adjacent buildings so not all the rooms are in the main building.

Great place to stay right next to Hallgrimskirkja and Cafe Loki. The rest of downtown is easily within walking distance. Despite being so close to the urban core, parking is readily available on the street (though you will have to pay during weekdays). They are very accommodating. My partner and I landed at KEF at 0600 (2200 in our local time). We had hoped that we would be able to through and staying awake until check-in at 1400 but we quickly discovered we were not capable. As it was too cold to nap in the car in the middle of winter, we showed up during breakfast at 0900 asking if we could somehow check-in incredibly early. They allowed this and we had a great nap before waking up in the afternoon to see the city. One note: the tap water does kind of smell like sulphur dioxide, so you might want to buy some bottled water at the nearest kronan if you find this unpleasant.

The people are nice. But the parking is annoying. There's only street parking, and when we were there, they were doing a bunch of work on nearby buildings, which blocked off many of the nearby spaces. And most of the parking areas were metered, so trying to leave your car parked for the day gets pretty pricey. Instead of having key cards or door codes, you get a set of 3 different (hard to use) old fashioned keys. And you have to use all of them to reach your room. We also ended up housed in a different building than reception, so it was annoying to lug all our gear another block. The shared kitchen was also in the main building, so we had to carry our food stuffs back outside to do our cooking. The kitchen had a good amount of kitchenware, but it wasn't well organized. And the one drawer that was actually labeled (towels) had zero towels. So we had to try to recycle soggy used towels when trying to wash and dry our dishes. The ratio of rooms/beds/people to shared bathroom wasn't very good (10-to-1). And the bathroom ventilation isn't good - the whole common area stinks when someone takes a dump. Our room was on the first floor, and it was pretty noisy with people walking by and cars driving. On the plus side, the room had a light switch right near the bed - very handy. The room and bathroom were clean. And the whole area was tiled, so you could easily deal with any messes made by dirty shoes. The included breakfast was pretty decent - some good bread and toppings.
