This is a thank you letter four months after leaving Iceland, because I suddenly saw the photos I took with my friend in Reykjavik, it reminds me of the wonderful times. I traveled to Iceland with my good friend in the last week of September 2023, and we had a great time at Alba Guest House. Although we had seen very mixed reviews on previous Google reviews before arriving, I was 100% satisfied with our stay. Although Mr. and Mrs. Landlady are not very talkative people, for me, an introvert, I feel that the distance between us is perfectly maintained. Moreover, when we needed help, they were very patient and enthusiastic in providing us with advice and help. I also liked the breakfast they provided very much, especially the pancakes made by the landlady herself. It was the food I looked forward to most every morning in those days. I enjoyed my stay here and am very grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Landlady for their hospitality.

If I should describe this place in one word I would choose to call it home. The house, the room, the living room, the owners, everything was so nice and welcoming. The room was so clean and comfortable, toilet was always clean and during my stay I never had to wait after others. But the highlight is the breakfast. Many choices for everyone: fruits, charcuterie, sweets, bread, pancakes, jams and great coffee. Location was great: 15 minutes walking from BSI Terminal station and 15 minutes walking from city center. I would return here for sure.

Overall it's not bad. Good price, close to the center. the building is old, but it's quiet and warm inside. Breakfast is very average, served from 7 to 9 a.m., you can't take a sandwich with you on the road for free. The owner is not very nice and not very communicative, but tries not to get in the way. I think that more smiles and hospitality for new arrivals would be useful, but apparently that's his character. I give it 4 because overall it wasn't that bad.
