The prices in Iceland are quite high, so I must say that even though it feels like we were paying a lot for it, it is very affordable for the region. The room was one of the smallest and with less natural light from outside. I cannot complain about my bed sheet and pillow but my friend's was a lot thinner, unfortunately. We opted for breakfast as the prices in the city being super expensive, but you had to wait for them to decide putting the stuff out and the reposition of items was lacking. If you are in a rush to go on a tour, it is not ideal. There's a no shoes policy but the employees don't follow it, so I didn't feel comfortable following it either. On the good side, the shower rooms are spacious in the common room and kitchen. During my four days there it feels enough for all the guests with no waiting on line for shower nor anything like this. The location is amazing, near the center and to the bus terminal.

I took Studio A, for one night, since I wanted to have a private bathroom. Well, it was probably a garage adapted as an apartment. The bathroom is very small, there are no windows, and the room was full of moisture, with mold and peeling walls, because of the lack of air exchange. The glass front door is the only kind of window there. Cleanliness deserves a separate discussion. The sofa was full of stains and the table sticky with still food and hair residue on the floor. For the price I paid, I certainly would have expected better service.

We stayed for a few nights and had a wonderful stay. The economy rooms were just a short walk away from the main reception, the room was clean, and the common area was as clean as you could hope public areas to be, and it was cleaned daily. The staff Magda and Ingi were amazing, Ingi was kind, and Magda was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We had the breakfast they offer on the first day and couldn't stop going. Tea and coffee were always free, and they had a large selection of teas. An unexpected perk was the selection of board games in the common areas, which we always played once we came back from a long day. We HIGHLY recommend you play quoridor. The location was very central, and just a short walk from the main shopping street, with lots of buses stopping nearby. We booked last minute and still managed to get the room for an average of about £40 a person per night, much cheaper than some other accommodations nearby. We highly recommend staying here, no complaints at all. Thank you Magda and Ingi!

A nice place for a short stay in Reykjavik or if you're travelling on a tight budget. Lots of rooms in the house and all of the facilities (washroom, shower, laundry and kitchen) are shared. The woman who checked us in was very friendly, but note that there is no one at the office desk overnight like in a horel. The room we were in was clean, well heated and had just enough room for a double bed, small desk, closet and a sink and mirror. Breakfast was available but we didn't get it. I would recommend this place to someone who is backpacking or traveling in hostel like accommodations. If you're with a family or looking for the full hotel experience then a hotel would be better suited for you.
