Hotel Colón Guanahaní Adults Only

Lovey heated pools, strong, substancial, adjustable sunbeds (not thoes white plastic ones that crack over time, & can difficult to get up from) great system fr pool towels. Very clean & comfortable hotel.

I stayed here for one week. This was my first holiday on my own after becoming a mother 6 years ago so my plan for this trip was to be with just myself, rest, read books and kind of get to know myself again. I chose this hotel after quite a lot of research and it turned out it was the perfect choice. I booked a superior room and stayed in a room on the 1st floor with direct pool access. Loved it! Very clean ( amazing cleaning staff ) and comfortable room, comfy bed and just over all what I wanted. Loved the bathrobes, the coffee machine and the private sun beds. Also a plus that you can cast your own movies on the tv. I kept mostly to myself but when I was in contact with any member of the staff they were always welcoming, smiley and happy to assist. The spa is great, clean and relaxing, a plus for the sauna and steam room which is free to use any time. I also had two massages from a very skilled woman, (should have asked for her name). But mature in age, dark hair and glasses. Lovely just lovely. It was my birthday during my stay and because of that I got a bottle of sparkling wine delivered to my room as a gift from the hotel, wow, amazing. The roof top terrace and pool is also great, especially for sunset. Also loved the salt water pools. Never had any trouble to find a sun bed. I only had dinner in the hotel once, I love to go out and eat. But the buffet that I tried was nice and also had plenty of gluten-free options. I’m not a big eater in the mornings, and also gluten intolerant so didn’t really dig into the breakfast buffet but it was lots of fruit and good cheese. The hotel is located close to the beach and every morning before sunrise I went on a walk, loved that to experience the local area before the world wakes up. Fanabe beach is also great for swimming in the ocean. Countless restaurants are also in the close by area. The vibe in the hotel is quiet, no music around the pool and when people talk to each other it’s on a low note, the median age is quite high. Way over my own age but that was just fine by me. All guests seemed to just want to relax. The only thing I can complain on is the terrible coffee in the breakfast, it’s just not good. But since I brought my own I didn’t really bother me. A bunch of thank yous to all the staff, this was the best week ever! Even though I come home one year older it feels like I am one year younger. Fully charged to go back to snowy Sweden and be a wife and mother again :) Muchas gracias ha sido encantador!
