A funny old place in a great location with lots of charm and character. Don’t expect luxury by any means, but the location is amazing and it was a great option if you’re only looking to stay a night in Venice (as many places have a two night minimum). Check in and check out processes were a bit strange, with other guests having trouble contacting the host while they were locked outside, but we had no issue.

The location of the hotel is fabulous and the rooms are good value. The hotel feels dated but that adds to its character and charm. Check-in is a pain if you arrive after 1pm and my partner and I had to wait outside with our suitcases for over 20 minutes while we phoned the contact number provided over and over again until someone finally picked up and gave us the code to the front door.

The safe is falling apart and is unusable; the air conditioning is pretty bad and it takes a while to get it going + it has no remote control; the mirror "art" is dusty and unhygienic (sorry, but it looks awful); there was still dust in the corners of the room; the entrance sign says that if you lose the keys they cost 150€ (that is absurd); there is no lift and the stairs are small and crammed, it's super hard to get your heavy luggage to the 3rd floor for example (we knew there was no elevator, we accepted that, but still); the windows have no mosquito nets, so mosquitos will get inside; the reception is only open 5 hours a day. The location is really good but I don't think it is a 3* hotel.
