In case you misplace your baggage or your belongings in any of the terminals at CSMIA, please do not worry. We are pleased to help our customers retrieve their lost items. All the agencies at the airport are directed to deposit any unclaimed goods under the lost & found property. The goods are deposited after duly recording the contents, description, date & time of deposition, and the depositor's signature.

All unclaimed items are transferred to warehouse post 24 hours or at 9 am next day, whichever is earlier, and can only be reclaimed by the passenger or by someone authorized by the passenger. All perishable items, including liquids, are kept in safe custody up-to 48 hours/expiry date, whichever is earlier, and then disposed of under the approval of the duty terminal manager. The lost property is kept on as is where is basis. The airport is not liable for any damages to any lost property under its custody.

Baggage handling and delivery at CSMIA is the responsibility of airlines from the point of check-in to the point of collection. If anything is left on the aircraft, respective airlines should be contacted immediately.

Timings

The operating window to claim the items left behind at the terminal is between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm (except 2nd & 4th Saturday, Sunday & public holidays).

Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) does not offer courier or postal services for lost items, nor insurance or any similar coverage. Items found shall be stored responsibly in line with the retention/storage policy. To reclaim a lost item, individuals must follow the outlined process, including verification of identity and proof of ownership. A valid government-issued ID, boarding pass/ticket, and an authorisation letter (if the item is being collected on someone’s behalf) would be required. Items that remain unclaimed will be managed as per Mumbai International Airport's (MIAL) retention policy."
